Clayton
Merritt
Clayton Merritt serves as President of Artis Recovery, bringing the operational foundation of Recovery Specialists of GA — an established recovery operation with deep roots across Southern and Central Georgia. Where Wes brought the compliance and standards framework, Clayton brought the field infrastructure: the vehicles, the agents, the relationships, and the geographic reach that makes Artis Recovery's east-to-west coverage possible.
Recovery Specialists of GA represents years of independent operation across the region — a track record that Artis Recovery was built to extend and elevate. Clayton's knowledge of Southern and Central Georgia terrain, lender relationships, and field logistics is the operational backbone of the combined company.
The partnership between Recovery Specialists of GA and Nostalgic Towing & Sales created something neither company could achieve alone: the most complete, compliance-first recovery operation in Southern Georgia.
Carl "Wes"
Carico
Wes Carico entered public service as a teenager and spent more than a decade in law enforcement — corrections, patrol, and criminal investigations — before transitioning into the repossession industry. That background shapes everything about how Artis Recovery operates.
After serving as a paratrooper with the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division and retiring as a Sergeant in Criminal Investigations with the Wise County Sheriff's Office in Virginia, Wes moved into repossession operations, eventually opening the Augusta, Georgia market for Renovo Services and managing a team of 75+ contractors across six states at peak volume.
He founded Nostalgic Towing & Sales before co-founding Artis Recovery. As the architect of the Peace Point™ System — the repossession industry's only objectively scorable breach-of-peace framework — Wes built the company on the same standard he helped the industry define.
He is the author of the Professional Standards in Repossession series (Vol. I & II), Peace Under Pressure: Operationalizing UCC §9-609 with the Peace Point™ System, and the Peace Point Field Agent Guide. He also serves as an expert witness and consultant on repossession conduct, standard of care, and breach-of-peace analysis.
Wes is an American Legion Commander at Post 9 in Brunswick, GA, and a District Adjutant.
